Handlebar How-To

It's the simple things in life that are best.  A cold one on a hot day, bluebird days on the mountain, and that feeling you get when you put in a bit of effort and you leave the house lookin' damn fine.

If you’re reading this then you are contemplating, are in the process of, or have grown a sweet ‘stache.  Rocking a manly cookie duster is definitely a simple pleasure, but if you just leave it to nature or trim it short you’ll end up looking like a cop or a creeper….  Follow these simple steps and your lady tickler will look like a million bucks.

Step 1, Keep it Clean
Honestly, this one ought to be a no-brainer.  Wash your face with soap and water daily.  I use an all-in-one body/ face/ hair product, but you can use whatever you like – Just as long as you use it!

Step 2, Shape it, Shape it Good
While you dry your face, use the towel to give your lip sweater its general shape.

Step 3, Style/ Groom
I like to use a mustache/ beard brush followed by a comb to style and groom my lower brow.

Step 4, Sculpt Like a Boss
Now that your mouth cozy is looking fine, sharpen and define using mustache wax .  First, use the end of your comb to carve out a pearl-sized bit of wax.  Next, using your thumbs and forefingers, work the wax until soft enough to apply to your mustache.  Finally, apply to the ends of your mustache – twirling the ends and gently pulling to the sides, guiding your final desired shape.  I like to use either the remaining wax on my fingers or a bit of soft formula on the center of my face fur to give it a bit of style and hold without looking too “styled.”

General Tips
As a rule, avoid trimming your mustache – leave it to the pros and visit your favorite neighborhood barber.   While shaving the rest of your mug, use care not to encroach into the mustache zone.  The wax will wash out with warm soapy water the next morning or whenever you and your ‘mo want to go au natural!

Damn I'm Smooth!

For best results, always use Wild Bill’s XXX Brand Fine Mustache Wax.
